George March’s novel is an outstanding success, and nobody could be prouder of him or his work than his wife who relishes the lifestyle and status this brings.

Until Mrs March, in response to various negative remarks made by friends, begins to suspect that George has used her as an aberrant character in the novel she has not read.

This leads to further flights of fancy and an increasingly paranoid journey. In which Mrs March begins to see George as the murderer of a young girl that has disappeared.

I can’t tell you much more without spoiling the story. But believe you me, this is a novel you will not be able to put down.
