A warm and funny novel about finding yourself . . . in a room full of strangers, drawing naked people.

Aria's Review

Drawing Nudes While Making Other Plans is a funny, bright and heartwarming book about a teenage girl named Cleo Markson.

Cleo is a planner; she makes plans for everything, first kisses, days at school, and interactions with friends and she does it all with her sister. But when Cleo has her first session at a summer art class with no sister to help her, she finds herself struggling. She stumbles her way through new friendships, romances, and classes while desperately trying not to think of the girl whose always been by her side.

The novel talks about dealing with grief, first relationships and finding yourself while in a room of complete strangers; drawing naked people. It’s a smooth and easy to read but still provides the same joy and emotion that any other book would. It’s perfect for the older fans of Lynn Painter and for anyone who loves a teen romance.

* Do a life-drawing course at the Australian Art School. (Try not to freak out the first time you have to draw a naked man.)
* Find your friends. (Your real ones.)
* First kiss?! (Only if it’s with the right person.)
* Try not to wish your sister were still here. (Impossible!)
