There’s a moment in The Forests of Silence—a sharp, sudden betrayal—that turned a quiet evening read into something more. Prandine, the trusted advisor, reveals himself as a servant of the Shadow Lord, and Annabel was outraged. Not just surprised—outrage (Thomas looked on nervously – as we all know – no one messes with Annabel). That was the moment they were hooked.
Rodda’s world is rich with danger and mystery, but it’s also deeply moral. The quest isn’t just about recovering magical gems—it’s about restoring what was lost through fear, silence, and forgetting. For Annabel and Thomas, this story wasn’t just exciting—it was personal. Highly recommended. Typically for 8+ (Annabel is 6).
