The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid is a popular novel about Evelyn Hugo, a Hollywood Star who is finally ready to tell her life story to an unknown writer, Monique Grant. It beautifully portrays Evelyn’s struggles about being a bisexual, Cuban woman in early Hollywood. The way TJR writes Evelyn is exquisitely human, showing her morally dubious side and building her as an incredibly complex character. It is a mesmerising, addictive novel that almost makes you believe it’s true - making you adore Evelyn and all her flaws. The book tackles issues such as racism, homophobia, divorce, and death and so it is recommended for 14 years and above.
