Aston's Review
This is one of those books where the less you know going in, the better. But I think that about almost every book, especially when someone is recommending it to me. With that in mind, I Want You to Be Happy, by Jem Calder, is a romance. It’s a book about relationships, identity, and love. This story sweeps you off your feet from the start and will leave you needing a glass of water and a background meditation video by the end.
I found myself engrossed in the characters of Joey and Chuck. At first, as I sussed out their relatability and followed their alternating perspectives, I began to feel itchy. Then stressed. Then clammy, simultaneously craving relief from a certain character and the inability to look away from the emotional train wreck unfolding before me. Strap in to be the third wheel in this emotionally immature situationship.
