Rise
Rise
Gabi's Review
With the South African win of the Rugby 2023 World Cup and the transition to paper back release in Jan there is no better time to revive this amazing 2021 biography. From a background of destitution, poverty and apartheid this story is more than the making of a sporting hero, it is a countries transition and transformation from the fallout of a brutal past.
Siya Kolisi is a remarkable man, humble, honest and down to earth. His talent secured him a scholarship where his sporting career was launched, a period that showcases his leadership qualities from the start. The brutal violence perpetrated on his mother initiated a desire to utilize his profile as a global ambassador for violence against women.
Rugby may not interest you but Siya Kolisi's story is inspirational for anyone.
