Snowflake is about a young girl on the brink of adulthood who goes to university but, who is also still very much embroiled in her small life on the farm.
The book is raw, shocking, and hilariously funny at times and one that all of us can identify with in this complicated and disturbing world.
It is about madness, mental health, risk taking, love, and all of life. At its heart it is a coming-of-age story about the protagonist, Debbie, leaving home and beginning to make her way through a world that threatens to obliterate her sense of self.
Looking back, I am sure we will all recognize traces of self, especially in the struggle to reach and imbibe the so-called wisdom of adulthood.
An excellent book. I enjoyed it immensely.
