Timeline

Linday's review

Sometimes you get tired of high literature and just want a damn good romp of a read. For a bit of mind-candy and a fun, relaxed read, I turn to science fiction. In our Must Reads section, The Lane has a number of Michael Crichton novels. Best known for the Jurassic Park series, another book of his that has an almost cult following is Timeline.

It's a fast-paced, action-packed, time-travel adventure in which archaeologists return to the medieval 100 Years' War to unravel the mystery of a monk found wandering in the Arizona desert. Amongst the difficulties of their return to the present, a murderous dual time-period plot is uncovered, and a race to save both timelines ensues. Alongside the riveting chase through time, Crichton’s historical details bring the past to life and explore the possibilities for history if time travel should ever be invented. A treat to enjoy.
